Trish, co-founder of GARD, started with her Australian Shepherd, "Joey". After numerous searches for the past 10 years, including the "Pentagon" in   2001, Joey was retired in June of 2006. "Rocco", pictured above, is in trainng for cadaver work and will be certified in 2007.

Big Jim – Jim Leonard and Sheba, A German Shepherd/Lab mix, are Operational dog team members of Greater Atlantic Rescue Dogs. Jim is the Diving Operation Manger with Oceaneering Int.

Brandy got her start in England with the Search and Rescue Dog Association in Dartmoor, England. She was with them for 1 year before coming back to the states and joining GARD in 2003. She has 2 certified airscent dogs, Tango 8 yrs old and Bayja 3 yrs. old. Tango will be retiring at the end of 2007 after many searches. Brandy is now training a third dog Ekko in airscent and will go on to train disaster with him. She works as a Veterinary Technician and has 2 children.

Cathy and her Border Collie, Rusty, are an operational air scent team for GARD. Cathy has worked in the medical field for 25 years and has been involved in canine behavior counseling, training, canine sporting events and dog rescue. Aside from Rusty, a rescue from a cruelty situation in North Carolina, she has a Whippet and a Jack Russell Terrier who are DELTA certified therapy dogs active with K9 Connection Pet Therapy in Williamsburg. Another Whippet, "Oreo" is showing promise working in cadaver detection.
